This is Curtis and he is apart of a non profit organization called the SanCopha League. I must admit, when I received this photo I was quite intrigued by the obvious (Im a loc’d loving woman before I am ANYTHING else) but what moved me the most was his statement about his journey.

“What’s up everybody? My name is Curtis. I’m African specifically from Ghana. I’m a member of SanCopha League, a Non-Profit Organization that works to spark Creativity, Entrepreneurship, Education, Athletics, Health, and fashion to under-privileged youth on the national level. I’ve had my Locs for 4 years. I started this journey because as I grew I had realized that Locs always had a negative connotation that came along with them. Certain people view Locs as being “barbaric” or “savage-like” and often time’s judge without knowing. So I wanted to be a walking example of how you can have this godly hair style and not be “barbaric” or a “savage”. I also believe there is power in hair and the growth of my Locs symbolizes my spiritual growth as a human being. Thank you for your page and If everyone could please take the time and visit www.facebook.com/sancophaleague and click the “like” button, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank You”
How can you not feel what this brother is saying! Thank you again Curtis!
